Job Description/Responsibilities

  • To ensure guest satisfaction and profitability is maximized at every opportunity.

  • To uphold professional standards of excellence and set an example to all other associates at all times.

  • Acting as a service ambassador to the winery, building relationships, and generating repeat business.

  • Check-in with the Manager at the start of each shift.

  • Enhances guest experience by assisting the tasting room Advisors and servers.

  • Clear and reset tables according to FOH service standards.

  • Module all safety & sanitation standards.

  • Bus and pre-bus throughout all dining areas and clear courses.

  • Maintain all area cleanliness which includes:

    • Restrooms (verify every 30 minutes)

    • Tasting bar areas

    • Patio areas

    • Dining room areas

  • Maintain levels of plateware, glassware, silverware, and/or items needed for guest service areas.

  • Act as communication liaison between wine advisors and kitchen.

  • Assist in special events, lunches, and dinners.

  • Transports finished plates to the correct table and places them at the correct position number.

  • Pre-bus tables between courses.

  • Be willing to assist fellow servers and bussers as needed.

  • Thank the guests for coming in and invite them to return.

  • Upselling of products including Halter Ranch wines.

  • Be aware of other promotions and events that are going on at Halter Ranch.

  • Have the required tools to do the job for that day, such as an order pad, pen, and wine-key.

  • Complete paperwork correctly after the end of every shift.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and to complete all assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

  • To maintain a clean work environment and uphold all health and safety regulations.

  • Ensure that all duties are carried out before the end of the shift.

  • Assist fellow associates with additional job duties as business dictates and is required.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Hospitality/Food and Beverage industry background and experience.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to focus for an entire shift, troubleshooting, and prioritizing skills.

  • Courteous and ability to make guests feel special.

  • A natural desire and willingness to serve others.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and prioritize.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Possessing and maintaining the current status of a Texas Food Handler Certificate.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, and time management skills.

  • Great customer service skills.

  • Ability to handle a high-pressure, fast-paced, and stressful environment.

  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, assist where needed, and carry heavy trays.

  • A desire to provide the ultimate in hospitality and customer service.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Must be able to work weekends, Holidays, and some nights.

  • Must be 21 years old.

  • Complete TABC Certification upon hire.

Additional Roles

Bussers/Runners may be pulled into alternate roles to fill staffing needs, including, but not limited to:

  • Wine Advisor

  • Host

  • Expeditor

  • Pit Boss

  • Breaker

  • Polisher

  • Tour guide, both impromptu and reserved tours

  • Management may assign additional tasks and duties at any point in accordance with business needs.

  • Hours of service or scheduled working hours may be adjusted in accordance with business needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time throughout the entire shift.

  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs. regularly throughout the entire shift.

  • Ability to work in high temperatures.

  • Must be able to stock wine effectively, set up and break down tables and chairs, be able to utilize a dolly cart, and assist in moving heavy objects.
